The International Community of Mennonite Brethren (ICOMB) is made up of 21 national churches in 19 countries with approximately 450,000 members. ICOMB exists to facilitate relationships and ministries to enhance the witness and discipleship of its member national churches – connecting, strengthening and expanding.
Pastors Retreat in California
Pastors and church leaders from the Hispanic Council of Mennonite Brethren Churches in the Pacific District Conference had its annual Pastors’ Retreat at Wonder Valley Ranch and Resort Center in Sanger, California on August 23-25, 2019 with fifty eight registered attendees. The theme for the retreat was We are one in Christ! Rudi Plett, Executive Director for ICOMB and his wife Ruth attended the retreat. Friday evening Rudi shared about our global Anabaptist history. Attendees were taught about the reformation movement that gave birth to the Anabaptist tradition. Saturday included a financial overview session provided by Martin Navarro and Erwin Zacarias from Everence and Rudi continued providing attendees with an overview of the actual context/mission of the church. During the afternoon on Saturday, the women gathered for a time of relationship building, sharing and praying for each other. The Saturday evening session ended with Rudi challenging the pastors and leaders to seek a closer relationship with Christ and each other. The PDC Hispanic Council Chair, Xavier Piña, said, “We look forward to continuing to partner with our global Mennonite Brethren family in the future.”
